Years of practice
Metria is a contemporary architecture and spatial design studio working across architecture, interiors, planning and built environments. Proportion, material and structure lead every commission.
The studio is in Karaköy, on a street that still takes deliveries and evening light. We are four principals and the people who draw with us. The work is architecture, interiors and planning — taken as one method, not as three departments.
We take commissions where we can stay close to the site. A house in Bodrum, a han in Ulus, a harbour pavilion: the brief changes, the sequence does not. Site first, then programme, then the material that can weather the place.
Metria does not run a catalogue. We do not decorate finished rooms, and we do not produce speculative plans for land we cannot visit. If the work cannot be held through construction, it belongs to another office.

Process
How we work
With the site, the brief and a first conversation. We establish constraints before form — programme, orientation, material and budget — then work from a measured concept into drawings and construction.
Interior architecture, furniture strategy, lighting and the sequence of rooms. Spatial design is treated as architecture at the scale of the body, not as decoration after the building is finished.
A typical house runs twelve to twenty-four months from appointment to completion, depending on permissions, structure and the level of interior work. Cultural and planning work follows its own calendar.
Yes. The studio is based in Karaköy and works across Turkey and selected international sites where we can stay close to construction.
