The light and stone of Bodrum were taken as the centre of the plan. The house gathers around the courtyard; rooms are set by shade and breeze.
The building was set facing into the plot. Boundaries that stand closed to the outside open in the courtyard. Life continues around this void.
Local stone, lime plaster and wood were used as a small number of materials. Details were kept spare to match the rhythm of the climate.

Making the courtyard the centre
Rooms were arranged around the courtyard. Boundaries that stand closed to the outside open inside.

Reading the climate
Shade and breeze set the plan decisions. Openings were built for coolness, not for a view.

Using local stone
Few materials: stone, lime plaster, wood. Details stay simple enough to follow the rhythm of the climate.
