Master Planning

A plan is a set of rules that can survive changes of architect and of programme. We work at the scale of a campus, a harbour edge or a residual urban plot — wherever the first decision is the order of open space.

Movement comes before massing. We fix the courts, the walks and the edges, then place buildings so they face something. Height is kept where a court would otherwise become a void.

The studio does not produce speculative masterplans for land that has no client and no site access. We work where the framework will be used — by us, or by others who can read a drawing.
