Spatial Design

These projects are faster and closer to the body. A quay pavilion, a linear gallery, a hall that opens to a court — the brief is presence, not a programme of rooms that must last a generation.

We design the sequence of arrival, the change of light and the one piece of furniture the room needs. Structure stays visible. When the event is over, the building should still make sense as a shade, a store or a public table.

Spatial design is not exhibition design as a service. If the work is only to hang a show in a finished room, it belongs elsewhere. We take the commissions where the room itself is the work.
