The cell is finished
when it locks to the line.

We put the assembly still done by hand into one package — path, tool, and line lock — on a tight takt.

Assembly Line Robotic Cell

On the Bursa supply line, assembly leaned on the operator across four stations. Cycle time drifted shift to shift while the part waited for the next transfer.

This was not a robot brochure. Fixture, path, vision drop, and the handshake with the neighbouring conveyor had to lock together before the cell counted as installed.

Need

When repeat work stays manual, tempo drifts.

The request arrived as “a faster robot.” The real break was that the cell did not talk to the line.

    Assembly depends on the operator

    Drop and tighten stayed with the shift. The same part sat differently at night.

  2. 02

    Safety is discussed later

    Gate and reset spoke a different language from the path. The cell could not be stopped and restarted on its own.

    Transfer waits

    The robot finishes its work; the neighbouring conveyor guesses the handshake.

Approach

Part path first, then the trajectory.

We did not drop the cell into empty space. Access, fixture, and transfer locked on the same drawing.

    Layout

    Operator space, part infeed, and robot envelope were drawn to the line rhythm.

  2. 02

    Tool and light

    Gripper and vision were chosen to measure the drop position, not guess it.

  3. 03

    Interlock

    Gate, reset, and transfer handshake were written in the PLC layer.

  4. 04

    Handover

    Tempo was measured at FAT. The first shift was watched beside the cell.

Fixture in place, path tied to the line.

The tighten position became part of the cycle. The robot does not close until vision says yes. The neighbouring transfer reads the cell reset in its own language.
